Chicken Karahi Red Sauce

We present you another recipe of karahi, you can call it Red karahi because of its red curry made with lots of tomatoes and chili. Few ingredients are all you need to put together this one. It always turns out mouth-watering delicious.

I always lookup to this dish whenever any guest comes to my place and I Am short of time and energy. This easily impresses them and makes me one proud host.

Beef and mutton karahi is equally delicious, only the cooking time is more. This made me think just now, I have never tried to make fish karahi. I will definitely try to make karahi with fish next time, only the cooking process would be slightly different.


Serve With

Flatbread like naan, chapati, paratha and lots of salad.

Ingredients

Ginger & Garlic paste: 1-2 tsp. (optional)
Chicken: 10 - 12 pieces
Salt: To taste
Red Chili powder: 1 tsp.
Tomato: 8 - 10 medium sized
Green Chili: 8 - 10
Green coriander: Handful
Ginger: Julian Cut - small size

Ingredients

1- In a pan or karahi, warm cooking oil and add ginger & garlic paste. Sauté the paste till you are sure the raw smell of ginger & garlic is not coming.

2- Now add chicken in karahi and fry for 5 minutes, keep stirring chicken. Add salt, red chili powder, mix everything well.

3- Cut each tomato into half or four, add in karahi give everything nice stir. Cover and cook on a medium flame for about 15 minutes.

4- After about 15 minutes, open the lid of karahi, the chicken should be tender by now and tomatoes should turn into sauce. At this stage throw in green chilies and simmer on high flame, reduce the consistency of tomato to a thick sauce, till the oil separates.

While serving, garnish with green coriander/cilantro and Julian cut ginger.
