Simple yet classy Masala Prawns recipe
The best Masalaydar prawns
This is one of the best Masala Prawns recipe, which can be a great weeknight dinner or weekday lunch option. It comes together in not over 30 minutes, and yet another recipe with few ingredients that are commonly available in your kitchen and pantry.
Serve With Masala Prawns
There are so many options that can go well with
masala prawns.
These are a few of my favorite recipes to serve
with it:
-
Vegetable Fried Rice
-
Zucchini and Carrot Rice
- Buns and Flat Bread
let us look at the ingredients and check a few
points about them
1. Prawns: The major ingredients of this recipe are prawns, I prefer
fresh prawns over frozen ones because nothing beats the taste of fresh
prawns. But fret not frozen prawns are also good to go in case you do not have
fresh ones on hand.
2. Onion: Onion makes the gravy base of this recipe, so finely chop or
thinly slice a good portion of onion for nice thick gravy.
3. Spices and Herbs: Nothing goes wrong when the spices and herbs combination includes
Cilantro, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili flakes, and garlic.
4. Salt: As per taste.
How To Make Masala Prawns
So this one is not only prepared with fewer
ingredients, but also with less effort. Let's get started with the process.
1. Clean, Wash, and Drain Prawns: I
always start with prawn preparation, as this is the only lengthy step in the
recipe preparation. De-skin and De-vein prawn. Soak them in chilled water with
half tsp of vinegar. Let it soak for about half an hour, then drain and wash
with fresh water. Keep aside till preparing other ingredients.
2. Peeling and Cutting: I have taken two large
onions for this recipe, as this will be the gravy base. Peel and thinly slice
onions, take 4 to 5 garlic cloves, peel them also, and chop them into small
pieces.
3. Sauté: First take a pan and put it on the stove on medium heat, fry garlic for about 1 minute till the oil is fragrant. Add turmeric powder and red chili flakes, sauté for few seconds. Now add thinly sliced onion and sauté till translucent. Add prawns, cilantro, green chili, and salt. Stir everything and turn the heat to low medium. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the prawns are tender.
4. Serve! Dish up the masala prawns
in a serving tray or bowl and serve them nice and warm with the side dish of
your choice.
